Who We Are

‘Cali with the Amazon’ was born in 2020 out of the need for a safe space for women in the very much male dominated sport of calisthenics. A space where all are welcome, your progress matters to everyone and no one is left behind. We started as a tight-knit group of 20 women and, by today, CWTA has introduced calisthenics to over 800 women!

Chetna Kanji

I didn’t know how much I needed calisthenics in my life, and now I’m addicted and feeling more confident in my own skin. Handstands is number one on my goal list, but I can’t wait to unlock it all and continue to be supported by a community of cheerleaders and friends for life. Let’s get stronger together, I promise you won’t regret it…and it’s also SOO MUCH FUN!!!

Zoe Mak

I have always feared that the older I get, the less mobile I will become, so I am determined to stay as active as possible. I currently practice Karate, yoga and calisthenics. The first cali skill I learnt was scorpion on rings, and I was hooked ever since – it’s amazing what our bodies can do when we push our limits!

The CWTA community is so supportive and inspiring. There are so many skills I want to ace, but currently, it is handstands with control. My mission is to introduce calisthenics to all my friends so they can join me in mastering what once seemed impossible!

Masha Matheson-Dounaeva

Growing up, sports and fitness education was always catered to males. I didn’t even realise it until I started pole and calisthenics, well into my thirties. My goal is to fix the mess society has made of training and body image for women. It’s my dream to help others in my situation find fitness a lot earlier and to make exercise fun and accessible for everybody.

Mala Pinduria

My goal is to be fitter and healthier than yesterday and the way in which I go about achieving this, needs to be fun, challenging and empowering. Entering into the world of Cali definitely gives me that and every woman should be able to feel this type of energy. Wherever possible, I’d love to radiate positivity and inspire anyone that wants to create a much more magical version of themselves.

Ronnie Knocks

As a professional athlete, I’ve had to keep my body in good condition.

Since doing my first session with Rahel on gymnastics rings in the summer of ’23, I’ve noticed my body being able to move in ways it hadn’t before. Now I crave to move and build myself into the ultimate machine and hopefully to inspire others along the way.

Shilpa Bhudia

What empowers me is knowing that investing in my own growth and happiness whilst surrounding myself with strong, like-minded women, to become the best version of myself gives me the strength and experience to inspire others to do the same.

Sahir Ahmed-Evans

Sahir is here to shatter stereotypes. She’s not your typical Pakistani grandmother, most days you’ll find her practicing handstands, pull-ups and other calisthenics skills, proving that Menopause can be a vibrant, empowering phase of life.

As the founder of SAE Empower Coaching, Sahir’s mission is to inspire, motivate, and empower women to invest in their health and prioritise their wellness through movement, fitness, mindset and holistic lifestyle practises.

Shannon Sheffield

I am sharing my journey of growth through calisthenics, strength, and flexibility training, inspiring others—especially women—to embrace their potential.

I aim to encourage confidence, strength, and resilience, showing that with consistency and self-belief, we can break barriers and achieve both physical and mental growth.

I am studying for my Level 3 PT to enhance my ability to empower others to prioritise well-being and balance in their lives, both in body and mind and join me with their own transformative journeys—and learn some cool tricks along the way!
